If I could ban a buzzword it would be…

“DECISION-MAKING”

One more seminar about yeast deciding to bud or stem cells deciding to differentiate or axons deciding to cross the midline or bees deciding to do whatever bees do and my fucking head will explode.

Pray tell: what is the difference between saying “Under these conditions, the yeast buds,” and “Under these conditions, the yeast decides to bud”? Except that the latter is always said by someone who calls him/herself a systems biologist?

OMG now I’m thinking about systems biologists. Grrr! Why make 50 good measurements when you can make 50,000 shitty ones, right? BIG DATA!

That is all.
