Another take on the space program

In honor of Neil Armstrong. And I do mean it as an honor. It’s important that we remember dissident voices even when celebrating our accepted heroes. We lost Gil Scott Heron last year to no fanfare at all. It is also important to remember that the glory days of the space program, for all its deserved acclaim, were made possible by cold war fear and propaganda. If only we were as scared of falling behind the rest of the developed world in education, equality, and social justice.

This version isn’t as exciting as the more popular live performance, but there is no video of that.
