Fine dining with research proposalsPosted: September 3, 2012
If you’re like me and lack #PASSION, aka an underemployed spouse who can cater to all your and your family’s needs while you give plenary lectures about diseases you’re curing, you know that one of the first things to go when everyone gets busy is regular meals.
So I’m starting a series of posts of simple meals and food you can have on hand, even when a deadline is looming for both of you. All of these recipes taste as good at 3am as they do at 7pm.
The Two Wrongs Make A Right Not Dog
Whole wheat hot dog bun (New England style, like folded bread, not this bulky roll shit)
Grillo’s spicy Italian dill pickle spears ($$$)
Sriracha sauce (I know Huy Fong is the standard, but I much prefer Lee Kum Kee brand)
Cracker Barrel individual cheddar rectangles, stolen from catered event
1. Break the cheese rectangle lengthwise into two longer rectangles and place in hotdog bun.
2. Rest tofu pup on cheese. Microwave ~30 sec.
3. Lay pickle spear along side pup — in the bun. You heard me right.
4. Liberally apply sriracha
5. Serve with one whole apple (Roxbury Russet if you’ve got it) and fizzy water.
